Qualifications:
1. Bachelor’s degree or higher from an accredited college or university
- At least one year of successful experience in career counseling, employment placement, college placement, or student services
Duties:
- Manage the implementation of orientation/intake session
- Monitor all intake paperwork to ensure all required documents are completed correctly
- Keep accurate and up to date records on all students
- Complete required reports
- Administer career/educational surveys to students
- Obtain required information to counsel each student effectively on his/her desired career or academic goal
- Provide guidance to students needing help to complete college applications and FAFSA
- Create a monthly newsletter for students
- Conduct follow-up surveys with students who earn their high school credential
- Develop a relationship with local agencies such as WIA and DSS
- Refer students to the appropriate agencies as needed
- Complete all required trainings
- Assist instructors with reaching out to students who have left the program
- Perform such other duties as may be assigned by the Director of Alternative Programs
Terms of Employment: 28 hours per week
