Qualifications:            

1.   Bachelor’s degree or higher from an accredited college or university

  1. At least one year of successful experience in career counseling, employment placement, college placement, or student services    

 

Duties:

  1. Manage the implementation of orientation/intake session
  2. Monitor all intake paperwork to ensure all required documents are completed correctly
  3. Keep accurate and up to date records on all students
  4. Complete required reports
  5. Administer career/educational surveys to students
  6. Obtain required information to counsel each student effectively on his/her desired career or academic goal
  7. Provide guidance to students needing help to complete college applications and FAFSA
  8. Create a monthly newsletter for students
  9. Conduct follow-up surveys with students who earn their high school credential
  10. Develop a relationship with local agencies such as WIA and DSS
  11. Refer students to the appropriate agencies as needed
  12. Complete all required trainings
  13. Assist instructors with reaching out to students who have left the program
  14. Perform such other duties as may be assigned by the Director of Alternative Programs

Terms of Employment:  28 hours per week
