Qualifications:
Valid SC certification
- Master’s degree preferred
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
- Strong knowledge of English Language Arts curriculum
- Strong knowledge of Math curriculum
- Strong Knowledge of test-taking and academic strategies
Responsibilities:
- Provide explicit, scientifically-based instruction and intensive interventions to individuals and/or small groups for the purpose of improving language arts achievement.
- Facilitate effective instruction that meets the individual needs of diverse learners by consulting with staff on individualized instruction, monitoring student progress, evaluating classroom data, and adjusting interventions and instructional strategies to make content accessible to every student.
- Monitor and communicate student progress.
- Participate in district professional development related to the job and attend meetings, training, and professional development as required outside of the designated schedule.
- Analyze student achievement data in order to provide students with tier 2 and 3 academic interventions and support services.
- Use systematic and valid data collection procedures to measure the effectiveness of their own services in order to evaluate the impact on student achievement.
- Serve as part of a team that assists classroom teachers in understanding and completing more in-depth math assessments in order to identify specific deficits/needs of a specific student or a group of students.
Salary: Dependent upon placement on the UCSD teacher salary scale
