QUALIFICATIONS:
- A valid South Carolina Principal certificate
- Master’s degree in education/administration
- School or District Administrator Experience preferred
- Exemplary communication, conferencing, and interpersonal skills
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

- Provide support and supervision during state assessments and achievement tests.
- An articulate communicator with strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively with students, parents, and the community.
- Supervises student behavior and promptly reports emergencies to the Superintendent.
- Establishes and maintains an effective learning climate in the school.
- Meet with students and parents to develop and initiate plans to make up credits within the state regulations.
- Supervise all personnel in the alternative program and counsel them regularly on both a formal and informal basis.
- Oversee the administration of state gifted and talented test administration for the district.
- Review student data to determine and verify GT placement.
- Collaborate with District GT teachers on schedules, District and State GT guidelines, and review GT Curriculum.
- Coordinate GT Arts auditions and placements.
- Submit yearly GT reports according to state deadlines.
- Develop the adult education program budget and monitor the budget for necessary amendments.
- Find and screen applicants for adult education teaching positions and recommend them for appointment.
- Plan, organize, and implement courses and services to meet the continuing needs of adults in the district.
- Supervise and evaluate staff members.
- Maintain and complete accurate adult education and safety records
- Supervise publicity for the adult education program.
- Participate in county, state and national activities designed to improve adult education.
- Oversee the enrollment of all students in the program and maintain accurate attendance records.
- Supervise the granting and distribution of diplomas and high school equivalency certificates to students successfully fulfilling the requirements for them at the Adult Education program.
- Utilize all resources of the school system and the community in developing the most effective adult education program.
- Perform such other task and duties as assigned by the Superintendent.
